MD MTA "Light Rail Service Alert" 5/29:

Light Rail Repairs May 30-31

Due to needed track work to enhance safety on the Light Rail, the MTA will close the Light Rail system between the Hunt Valley and the Warren Road stations this weekend, May 30 and 31, 2015. MTA will be providing a Bus Bridge between Hunt Valley and Warren Road stations during service hours on Saturday and Sunday. The work is expected to begin at 1:00 am on Saturday and conclude in time for regular Monday service.

Supervisors will be on hand to assist customers at Warren Road station.

With the Orioles playing at home this weekend, fans should consider driving to the Timonium Fairgrounds Station, where you can park for free and take Light Rail South to Camden Yards.  We apologize for the inconvenience, but the work is necessary to continue to provide safe and reliable service to our customers.

Not sure why it was necessary for MTA to put out two separate alerts.  The one for light rail passengers should have sufficed.  The work being done has nothing to do with Metro. If they will make a practice of putting light rail alerts out to those connecting, then by extension every bus route that intersects with the light rail, and even Amtrak, MARC, and all the airlines serving BWI Airport might also need this alert since they are on the light rail line.
