OK Sunday is done, and with that this Fest is done, save for some Monday riding that may qualify as a "Fest" if it exceeds the quorum of 3 people as it may.

Today we peaked at 11 people at the easternmost part of our day east of New Haven.

The day started at Grand Central Terminal, as 7 folks started out from there on Metro North's New Haven Line -- namely Dick, Alan, Ed, Preston, Penny, Chris, and me. John boarded at Harlem-125th Street making it a party of eight. Then when we got to New Haven for our lunch stop, we were joined by Lou who lives in the area, and by Jishnu and Bill who had come up on Amtrak #160.

The trip on Shore Line East had 11 people. We made our connection with no problem at New London. We were still 11 people on Amtrak #163 from New London back to New Haven, where Lou detrained. That left 10 of us back to New York City, where the Fest officially ended upon our arrival.

Chris, Alan, Penny, Dick, Preston, Ed, and I had dinner at the Stage Door Deli near Penn Station before going our separate ways.

Timekeeping on this day of activities was really not an issue as we only had two commuter rail trips and one Amtrak trip. The main concern was making the connection at New London to go back the other direction. Had we been more than 11 minutes late, and the Amtrak train exactly on time, we would have had an issue. But neither happened, and people had time to run into the station and its rest room quickly, as well as posing for group photos outside before the Amtrak train came. The final arrival into New York was only a minute late, and Bill reported that the same train made Philly on time.

Weather cooperated for the most part. Yes it was cold as expected, and we did see some snow flurries before we left New Haven on Shore Line East. Today really maximized time either aboard trains or in warm places waiting for them.

And so ends another successful winter Fest and full day of activities. The itinerary has been completed to reflect our actual calling times today on the scheduled trains we rode. The dreaded "T" word has been removed as things no longer can be considered tentative.
