California High-Speed Rail Construction Update – Summer 2022

California High-Speed Rail Authority

The California High-Speed Rail Authority Summer 2022 Construction Update highlights continued progress being made on the nation’s first high-speed rail project. Like the temperature in the Central Valley, high-speed rail construction continues to rise, and this update features the latest on major construction projects from Madera to Kern counties. Highlights include progress across all high-speed rail construction packages including updates on several structures including Avenue 15 ½ Grade Separation in Madera County, Hanford Viaduct in Kings County, and Merced Avenue Grade Separation in Kern County.

Since the start of construction, the California high-speed rail project has created more than 8,000 construction jobs, a majority of which go directly to those living in the Central Valley. There are currently 119 miles under construction in the Central Valley with more than 30 active construction sites.
