From NY Newsday:

QUOTE
In a blow to Gov. George Pataki, Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Lower Manhattan's business leaders, the House of Representatives yesterday blocked a measure to convert federal tax credits into $2 billion that would go toward a rail connection between Kennedy Airport and Lower Manhattan.

Reading the story makes clear the action was taken by the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, not the State House, i.e. Albany.

Can the topic heading be changed to reflect that? huh.gif

This was just going to be an extension of the current one to link up with another transit corridor, right?

From the New York Post, 10/12/04:

QUOTE
JFK RAIL LINK NIXED

WASHINGTON — A corporate tax bill that doles out tens of millions of dollars from Alaska to Florida stiffs New York City by excluding a critical measure that would have helped create a new rail line from lower Manhattan to JFK Airport.
