Yeah, Rick is right it is indeed the Lowell line but there has been some talk of a spur line that would use the Fitchburg.

Editorial in Boston, MA Herald, 2/9/11:

Secretary of Transportation Jeffrey Mullan acknowledges he is “nervous” about finding the money for an extension of MBTA Green Line service into Somerville. And if he’s nervous, well, then the fare-paying public ought to be scared witless.

Boston Globe 8/4/11:

Nearly 650 sign Somerville petition protesting Green Line delay

Anger, frustration, and an undercurrent of disappointment.

"Enough is enough," said one commenter.

"Unacceptable," another resident wrote.

"Get. It. Done," wrote a third.

Those comments and score like them were penned by some of the more than 500 who signed an online petition to urge lawmakers and state transportation officials to follow through on years of promises to complete the Green Line extension through Somerville.
