VRE Train Talk, 1/20, 6:20 pm:

VRE will operate on a Full Schedule tomorrow

VRE is planning on operating a full schedule tomorrow. Majority of the storm is not expected to hit until morning service has already begun. Please remember to dress warm, wear appropriate clothing, and be careful with moving about the stations platforms and trains.

VRE confirmed a full schedule at 4:00 am; then sent this out:

Update: VRE will operate a "S" Schedule today

4:05 am

We will operate an "S" Schedule today, January 21, 2014. Only trains with an "S" above its train number on the schedule will operate.

We apologize for any confusion.

Note: The Federal Government and all area school systems have closed for the day in anticiapation of snow beginning mid-morning, with heavy snow expected though the afternoon in to the evening. I believe the federal government announcement was made almost simultaneously with VRE confirming regular service. VRE had to make a "quick switch."

VRE Train Talk, 10:52 pm 1/21:

VRE Operating Full Schedule Wednesday, January 22

VRE is operating a full schedule Wednesday, January 22nd. Our crews will be out clearing the platforms to the best of their ability. Please be aware that there may still be icy spots in the parking lots and the platforms for the morning commute. Please take it slowly and allot extra time for your commute for the drive in and walking to the platform.
