NS Intermodal Shipper Alert:

SEPTA Track Work Near Morrisville, PA
Mar 02, 2015

Please be advised that the recent weekend outages for SEPTA (Commuter Railroad) track work were hampered by severe cold, snow, and ice.  As a result, additional track work is planned for two consecutive weekends beginning Saturday, March 21st.  The track curfew imposed by SEPTA on Norfolk Southern trains begins at 3:00am Saturday mornings and ends at 8:00pm Sunday nights, and it will delay all intermodal trains into and out of the Morrisville facility.

Norfolk Southern operates on less than two miles of SEPTA line to access Morrisville.

Based on curfew windows and current routing plans, the estimated impact to customers and availability is noted below:

20Q-19 (Chicago 47th to Morrisville)
Chicago and connecting traffic originating from Kansas City and St. Louis available late Sunday night.

20Q-20 (Chicago 47th to Morrisville)
Chicago and connecting traffic originating from Kansas City and St. Louis available Monday.

24K-21 (Chicago 63rd, Rutherford to Morrisville)
Traffic originating from Chicago available 5:00pm instead of 11:00am.  Traffic originating from Atlanta available 11:00pm instead of 6:00pm.

24K-22 (Chicago 63rd, Rutherford to Morrisville)
Traffic originating from Chicago available 4:00pm instead of 11:00am.  Traffic originating from Atlanta available 11:00pm instead of 6:00pm.

21E-21 (Morrisville to Willow Springs)
We will protect traffic to Chicago 63rd for connection to train 21J in Rutherford, but Atlanta and Dallas traffic for trains

213 and 203 may be held at origin for 24 hours.

25T-21 (Morrisville to Chicago 47th)
All traffic originating from Morrisville will incur at least 36 hour delay.

An update will be provided once service plans are finalized.
