Note that Amtrak posted this item at 4:50 PM on the day it was in effect, meaning most of the trains that the cancellations or truncations took place before the public was even notified.  Way to go, Amtrak!

 


 

 


Service Adjustments on the West Due to Weather Conditions - Winter storm impacts schedules


February 02, 2019 4:50 PM ET


 

Amtrak will operate a modified service on Saturday, February 2, due to track closures north of Ventura and between Solana Beach, CA and San Diego - Old Town Transportation Center, caused by current weather conditions. Full scheduled service will be restored pending improved conditions.

 

Current schedule adjustments include:

  • Train 562 will terminate at Solana Beach, CA.

  • Trains 1569, 1572 are canceled.

  • Train 782 will originate in Ventura.

  • Trains 763 and 1761 will terminate in Ventura.

  • Train 14 is returning to Los Angeles.

  • Train 774 will terminate in Santa Barbara.

  • Train 583 is canceled, as passengers will be boarding Train 785.

  • Train 11 will terminate in Salinas.

  • Train 14 will originate in Oakland, CA - Jack London Square Station.

  • Trains 763 and 785 will terminate in Oxnard.

  • Passengers traveling south of Santa Barbara will be provided alternate transportation.

  • Passengers traveling to Hanford, CA will be provided alternative transportation to Train 718 to Bakersfield, CA, and then will transfer to train 5818 to Los Angeles.

Anyone planning to travel should check their train status on Amtrak.com or our smartphone apps prior to departing, allow extra time to get to the station and be extremely careful in stations and on platforms.

 

Customers with reservations on trains that are being modified will typically be accommodated on trains with similar departure times or another day. Amtrak will gladly waive additional charges for customers looking to change their reservation during the modified schedule by calling our reservation center at 800-USA-RAIL. 

 

Anyone can subscribe to automated email or text message notifications if Amtrak trains are behind schedule at specific stations. Notifications can be given for up to six trains and stations by either text or email and delivered when you choose - on a single day, every day, or just certain days of the week. Create a subscription at Amtrak.com/DelayAlerts.

·         Trains 768, 774, 782 and 792 will originate from Oxnard

·         Trains 763, 1761, 1767 will terminate in Oxnard

·         There is no alternate transportation for cancelled stops.
