KCS Service Update:

Labor Day Service Notification - 2017

August 08, 2017

On September 4, 2017, the Kansas City Southern Railway Company will reduce forces in observance of Labor Day.

Service requests for this day should be emailed to Customer Solutions by 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 18th, 2017. If no message is received, it will be understood that no service is needed.

Service requests will not guarantee service on the day requested. Once all requests are received, the local operation will attempt to secure resources to perform service and will communicate if the request can be honored or not.

We appreciate your being a loyal customer and we look forward to continuing to serve you.

Labor Day Holiday Operating Plan

Posted Date: August 21, 2017

To Our Customers,

Union Pacific plans to have modified operations for Labor Day -- Monday, Sept. 4, 2017, through Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017.

Between 7 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 4 and 6:59 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 5, manifest trains will be held at origin. Trains en route will operate to destination. Some yard and local operations may be curtailed based on traffic levels and customer needs.

Major interchange locations will remain open. Mexican and Canadian interchange gateways will have normal operations on Monday, Sept. 4 through Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017.

If your facility requires service during the holiday, please open a Service Issue on our website prior to close of business on Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017. You may also contact Customer Service at 1-800-272-8777 to have a Service Issue opened on your behalf. Feedback will be provided regarding the availability of service over the Labor Day holiday.

This operating plan is subject to change in the event of a major service interruption or weather event. Thank you for your cooperation. On behalf of all the employees of Union Pacific, we would like to wish you a safe and happy holiday.

Please contact the National Customer Service Center or your Union Pacific representative with any questions.
