That happens to be the same incident caused three of the mini-Boston Fest members to miss the first leg of the fest.

That problem did indeed delay us from reaching Boston in time for the mini-fest, we were almost 1 hour late. So Kevin quickly reworked the itinerary and 5 of us took a ride on one of the Old Coloney lines to Middleborough.
We did however get to more or less see something interesting. The Acela that pulled down the wires, sat there for almost an hour. It was then towed back to Stamford, by a Metro North engine. What was most interesting was that the Metro North engine was an FL-9 all decked out in New Haven livery. After detraining the passengers, MN then moved the Acela consist just north of the Stamford station. While we didn't actually see the towing, crews had just finished un-coupling the FL-9 as we passed. Sadly I didn't have my camera ready though. A short while later we passed two south-bound Amtrak P42's running light, no doubt headed to haul the damaged Acela trainset back to Boston for repairs. It appeared as though the lead power car's pantograph was missing. -------------------- Alan,
Take care and take trains! |
