Exactly how many incorrect statements did that so-called "Amtrak" person make?

For starters: the TSA dictates the Amtrak reservation and ticketing system? Ah....., no. To the best of my knowledge, the TSA does not care how Amtrak accepts reservations or sells tickets. The TSA gets blamed for a lot of things. This one is false. It is Amtrak making excuses.

Second, you need a reservation to get a ticket from QuikTrak? Ah....., no. You can walk up to a QuikTrak and, assuming there is space available, buy a ticket on the spot. You do not need to call ahead and get a reservation first. I guess this Amtrak "spokesman" was unaware of that.

I smell some mid-level supervisor who thinks he is a VP and decided to make a little noise. I'm sure the actual Amtrak PR people are thrilled.

This guy could even be one of the crew members who decided to vent. He probably should have stated his title with Amtrak rather than simply saying "Amtrak".
