My return trip to St. Cloud: january 13, train 92, FTL-WAS, 1275 miles January 14, WAS-CHI, train 29, 764 miles Jan 15, CHI-SCD, Train 27, 482 miles total this jaunt: 2521 miles Edited in light of Bill MaGee's information listed below. I tried using the mileage listed in the Amtrak Timetable, but the Timetable is unclear as to the difference in miles between the routes.

Edited by WICT106, 17 January 2008 - 08:39 AM.

Over 20500 miles aboard Amtrak.

Well, my position at the top of the OTOL heap (a heap of 2) was short-lived.

My calculations show the Silver Star route is 133 miles longer than the route of the Silver Meteor (42 miles added via Columbia SC and 91 miles added via Tampa). So, your trip on the Silver Star from FTL to WAS was the Meteor's mileage (1367-225=1142) plus the added miles for the Star (1142+133) = 1275 miles. So, with that out of the way....

WICT106 : your Amtrak Mileage Tally submission has been recorded as follows:

13-Jan-08 : Amtrak Train 92 Silver Star; from Fort Lauderdale, FL to Washington, DC ; 1275 miles
14-Jan-08 : Amtrak Train 29 Capitol Limited; from Washington, DC to Chicago, IL ; 764 miles
15-Jan-08 : Amtrak Train 27 Empire Builder; from Chicago, IL to St. Cloud, MN ; 482 miles

This submission added 3 segments and 2,521 miles to your 2008 totals.
Your 2008 totals are 3 segments and 2,521 miles.
Your 2008 mileage is 61.5% of 4,102 total miles submitted by all participants to date.
You are presently ranked 1 out of 3 participants.
