Not really a new bus but more stops added to an existing run. Plus an exception to California's strict law that Thruway bus trips can only be booked if transferring to or from an Amtrak train.
Bakersfield is already a hub for Thruway buses, as the San Joaquins end there. Besides Los Angeles, bus routes fan out to Barstow, the Inland Empire, Simi Valley, and other places, and some continue from Los Angeles to Long Beach, San Pedro, and even San Diego.

And if the gas prices drop, people will drive more and buy more gas!If people stop buying so much gas, the gas prices will drop.
