The 4 PM update:
QUOTE Amtrak Northeast Corridor Delays Continue between Princeton Junction and New Brunswick, New Jersey after Earlier Signal Problems are Repaired Amtrak Northeast Corridor passengers traveling between Princeton Junction and New Brunswick, New Jersey, should expect residual 15-30 delays, in each direction, following earlier signal problems which had impacted travel between New York and Philadelphia for much of today. At about 5:30 am., a large tree tumbled onto the over wire system and adjoining tracks near Princeton Junction, NJ, which in turn, caused signal outages in and around the affected areas. While the damaged signals have been repaired, some electrical problems along the tracks persist, and will cause residual delays due to expected congestion. The incident has also resulted in several cancellations and service adjustments with passengers being offered accommodations on other trains. Amtrak regrets any inconvenience. This information is correct as of the above time and date. Information is subject to change as conditions warrant. Passengers are encouraged to call 800-USA-RAIL or visit http://www.Amtrak.com/ for schedule information and train status updates. -------------------- Kevin Korell OTOL Board Leader Howell, NJ |
