7/10/11
Arrived Chicago union station about 4:30 to catch 30. I was hoping to snag first seating but no luck. I got 3rd seating at 7 pm. 6:30 and 6:45 were taken. So I snacked on my pretzels and pepsi. Decided to ticket my 48 hour upgrades for my acela rides on 7/11 and 7/12. These were 48 hr upgrades processed by phone. Was originally going to do this in washington but thought better of this when 30 arrived dc 3 hours 7 minutes late today. Time to cath the 4 pm acela, but not to process a ticket. |

Boarded at 5:15 pm. Nice touch. Attendant collected tickets as we stood on the hot, fumy platform. Annoying. But the best part is my room (12) is on the left side. And ac is working great.

Departed on time at 6:10. Just walked through the diner and am happy to see it's not a ccc. The crew is organized too.

Well maybe a bit more typical. The food was good. I had teriyaki short ribs and peanut butter ice cream. My service was good. However one guy seemed to be doing most of the work. The others must have been there to collect agr points. Didn't really impact me, but later seatings got later.
A good overnight ride to Pittsburg. A few minutes late for most stops then 35 minutes early into Pittsburg. |

Thanks Kevin. How about if I buy you lunch or dinner durIng the Fest.
Currently in harpers ferry running about 25 minutes late. Time was Ost going over sand patch but don't really know how since we never stopped moving. In washington I'll see if I can switch to 3 pm acela for Boston. I have fc with use of upgrade certificate on 2172 at 4 pm. If it's painless I'll switch. Otherwise I'll stay on 2172. |

Lol.
I successfully switched to 2170, 3 pm acela for boston. Agent processed the ticket and instantly saw it was an upgrade. Transaction was pleasantly simple. Cost another 26 dollars. Now Ill get to Boston an hour earlier. |
