In this forum you will learn about the activities that many passenger rail advocates like you are doing. Many of these organizations lobby their local and US politicians for various rail projects. A very good example of this is AMTRAK's DOWNEASTER train. Without the work of Train Riders Northeast (a local New England affiliate of NARP), this train would never have left the station.

If you have not already done so, you are encouraged to join these advocacy groups, both NARP on the federal level, and local groups in your state or city. You should be able to find more information on these groups by visiting your favorite search engine. Most charge an annual fee of anywhere from $10 to $35, but they use that money to do their work so it is money well spent.
