SEPTA TO OPERATE SHUTTLE BUSES ON A PORTION OF TROLLEY ROUTE 101 FOR TWO CONSECUTIVE WEEKENDS

PHILADELPHIA, PA (June 10, 2004) SEPTA will operate shuttle buses in
place of regular service on a portion of the Route 101 Media trolley line between Scenic Road and Orange Street Stations this weekend (Saturday & Sunday, June 12 & 13) and next weekend (Saturday & Sunday, June 19 & 20) due to a grade crossing project.

The shuttle buses will be in operation from 5:40 a.m. on Saturday until 7 p.m. on Sunday each weekend.

During the project the road grade crossings at Springfield Road (June 10-16) and Leamy Avenue (June 17-24) in Springfield Township will be closed to automobile traffic as SEPTA installs a new concrete roadway providing a smoother ride for trolley passengers as well as motorists.  Detour signs will be posted in the area to direct drivers.

Riders may telephone the SEPTA Customer Service Department at (215) 580-7800 for additional information.
