As a holiday bonus, the LIRR will offer tickets at off-peak prices over the four-day weekend from Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 27 through Sunday, November 30. Additionally, the Railroads Family Fare Discount will be in effect all four days. That means kids ages 5-11 (limit of 4 children) can ride one-way for $1 when accompanied by a fare paying parent or guardian. However, those tickets must be purchased before you board the train. Weekly and monthly ticket holders pay just for the kids and, as always, children under 5 ride free.
