MEDIA ADVISORY - NEWARK AIRPORT STATION WILL BE CLOSED AT 10PM SATURDAY, MAY 30, UNTIL 12PM SUNDAY, MAY 31 FOR SCHEDULED MAINTENANCEDate: May 28, 2015
Dedicated shuttle bus service between Newark Liberty International Airport and Newark Penn Station will minimize impacts to travelers, whileAirTrain Newark will be available for connection between all other station stops
Beginning at 10 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, the Newark International Airport Station will be closed until 12 p.m. on Sunday, May 31 for scheduled maintenance, while AirTrain Newark will continue to provide service to all on-airport stations, including the terminals, parking lots, rental cars and hotel shuttles.
All NJ Transit and Amtrak trains will bypass the Airport Station during this time. Dedicated shuttle buses will be available between Newark Liberty International Airport and Newark Penn Station. At Newark Penn Station, shuttle buses will pick up and drop off at the Raymond Plaza West entrance. At Newark Liberty International Airport, shuttle buses will drop off passengers on the frontages of Terminals A, B and C, and will pick up passengers heading to Newark Penn Station at Station P4.
In coordination with NJ Transit and Amtrak, passengers traveling via rail will need to have a valid rail transit or monthly ticket between Newark Liberty International Airport and their origin or destination point available when boarding buses at Newark Penn Station.
During the closure, all buses will display appropriate route information. Wait times will be minimized with increased bus service as needed. Additional airport Customer Care Representatives and other Port Authority staff will be on duty to provide enhanced information for passengers during the station closure.
Travelers are urged to allow extra time to get to and from the airport during these hours.
