From the Visalia Times-Delta:
QUOTE A Visalia woman was killed when the car she was driving was hit by a train Wednesday, the second such incident in two days. According to eyewitness reports to the Hanford Police Department, Doris Nell, 56, failed to stop when the crossing arms went down at the train track on Houston and 10 1/2 avenues. Nell's car stalled, and witnesses re-ported that she appeared to be attempting to restart the car when it was hit by the Amtrak passenger train, which was traveling about 60 mph. The full story is here. -------------------- Nick Gibbon

Modern motor vehicles almost never "stall" -- except on train tracks. Hmmm. Could it be magnetism in the tracks? Or perhaps some undiscovered energy aura.
Or perhaps cars that "stall" on the tracks do so because their drivers want them to "stall" on the tracks... -------------------- Regards, HaRRy, San Diego

Anyone with their wits about them would get out of a "stalled" car and RUN.
It appears that this driver had enough time. |
