Metrorail e-Alert on the Yellow Line

Service alert is in effect at L'Enfant Plaza in the direction of Mt Vernon Sq 7th St-Convention Center.

Detail: Minor delay on the yellow line due to smoke outside the L'Enfant Plaza station.

How does smoke affect the Yellow Line at L'Enfant Plaza, but not the Green Line (which runs on the same tracks) and the Orange Line and Blue Line (which also serve L'Enfant Plaza on a different level) ??

At any rate, whatever Pierre L'Enfant is cookin' must still be smoldering, because I never got a "clear" on this one.
