Well the day is here finally! Those of us crossing the country by train will embark later today on our trips. Hopefully the intense planning will pay off, and we don't get thrown any late curves.

Alan is going to try and keep you informed from aboard the trains, and I'll try to do a wrapup when I can get to a computer in the hotels in California or the Amtrak first class lounges.
