We experienced an unplanned outage on Monday, September 3rd (Labor Day). This board and our sister OTOL website were unavailable for as much as nine hours.

Our host has communicated with us and informed us that they were the victim of a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack. A cyber terrorist apparently flooded our host's servers with an abundance of bogus data. This eventually overwhelmed the system, causing performance issues for not only OTOL, but any other clients hosted on the server(s) involved.

They have apologized to us and they are working on finding the culprits and bringing them to justice, and preventing this type of outage from taking place again.
