On March 3, 2009, the DART Board of Directors authorized two public hearings to receive comments on (1) a proposed system-wide fare structure modification, and (2) system-wide bus and rail service changes. The public hearings will be held consecutively in conjunction with the DART Board of Directors meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2009. The majority of the proposed changes to the fare structure and all of the service changes would go into effect no later than September 14, 2009, with fare changes to the Corporate Pass program effective on January 1, 2010 and with the final adjustments to base fares and TRE fares effective on October 1, 2010.

Public meetings set

DART taking comments on proposed fare and service changes

Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) will host a public hearing April 14 on September fare and service change proposals.

The hearing will be held at DART Headquarters (Board Room) located at 1401 Pacific Avenue in Dallas (MAPSCO 45-K) at 6:30 p.m.

DART will hold 11 community meetings prior to the public hearing. The meetings are scheduled for Addison, Dallas, Garland and Irving from March 30 through April 13.

The DART Board of Directors is scheduled to vote on the fare and service changes in May. The majority of approved changes to the fare structure, and all of the bus and rail service changes will go into effect September 14.
