An optional excursion on the Oregon Pacific railroad is available for the Portland duration of the meeting, but advance reservations are required. Families are welcome to join us on this trip. Details are below.

07:30-11:00: Board Amtrak Cascades #501 along the route. Meeting will begin after leaving Centralia.
11:15: Depart for Oregon Pacific Railroad Shop, Milwaukee, OR via charter bus
Noon: Depart for Oaks Park
13:30: Box Lunch on board the train (a roast turkey sandwich, chips, fruit salad, a new Seasons Market Cookie, and a Blue Sky Soda). Vegetarian option is available (you will get to choose your option when you register online)
15:30: Depart for Union Station
16:00: Arrive Union Station. If the train ride ends early, there may be the Coast Starlight train option, if riders can wrangle earlier boarding from Portland Agents. Otherwise, some open time to explore downtown Portland.

Cost of the optional Oregon Pacific excursion is $30 (which also covers the cost of the bus charter and box lunch). Advance registration is required, since there is a limit of 50 people. You can register online from the AAWA Website and you can pay via Paypal. You can also register via postal mail with a check. If you do mail in registration, please include the following information:
(1) Contact Name
(2) Contact phone # and/or email address
(3) Number of people you are registering
(4) Indicate the number (choice) of entree (turkey or vegetarian) requested.
(5) Check to "All Aboard Washington" for $30 X number of registrations.

The $30 excursion cost does not include transportation costs to/from Portland. You are responsible for your own transportation (aka Amtrak).

Register soon for the excursion, there is limited space and AAWA plans to open this excursion to AORTA members sometime next week.

Hope to see you in August.
