This thread is for reports about our trip on the train they call the City of New Orleans (as opposed to the city itself), Train #58(22) from Memphis to Chicago.

And this trip is now behind us, our last one with most of the group together. It was a nice trip. Our attendant Al was very attentive. He had a huge order in cleaning all of our rooms in Memphis just before we boarded. Those who didn't go to breakfast did not encounter the dining staff, but word I got was that they were not even close to the professionals we had on the first City of New Orleans trip.
#58(22) left Memphis 2 minutes late at 10:42 PM, and with weather related delays into Chicago, we were 47 minutes late arriving at 9:47 AM.
There are varying plans of what to do in Chicago, so essentially most of the rail riding has been completed except for some going on the Hiawathas, maybe some on the Elburn METRA train, and a few will be on the eastbound trains out this evening.
