From Railways Africa:
Alstom recently completed the latest high-speed Pendolino trains at its Savigliano plant in Italy, due to be delivered to UK rail operator Virgin Trains shortly. At the same time the company introduced its first very high-speed AGV italo trains, soon to enter service with new Italian rail operator Nuovo Trasporto Viaggiatori (NTV). NTV, Europe’s first privately-owned operator of very high-speed trains, is about to launch its services in Italy. The company ordered 25 high-speed AGV trains which are to start running in early 2012 on the Turin-Rome-Naples-Salerno and Venice-Rome lines.
