Empire Service Schedule Change

Beginning July 2, schedules for some trains operating along the Hudson Line between Albany-Rensselaer and New York will be adjusted to accommodate track work being performed by Metro-North Railroad. Note: Holiday schedules on July 4 will also be revised.

The adjusted schedules replace those shown in Amtrak printed timetables. The most up-to-date schedule and train status information is available on Amtrak.com, our free iPhone app and at 1-800-USA-RAIL (1-800-872-7245).

Please note: Tickets issued prior to the schedule change date may not reflect the adjusted departure times. While Amtrak makes every effort to notify passengers about schedule changes, passengers are encouraged to confirm their departure times prior to travel.

Thank you for traveling with Amtrak. We appreciate your patronage.

This summer schedule change includes new timetables for the Ethan Allen Express/Vermonter, Adirondack, and the Empire Service schedule itself. As part of the summer changes and to accommodate the racing season at Saratoga, the Ethan Allen Express will change 7/21 through Labor Day so that #296 will run both Saturdays & Sundays instead of just Sundays, and #292 (Saturdays only) will be cancelled during those times. Filling #292's Albany-New York slot on Saturdays will be #266.
