Red Line Detours July 14-15

Red Line T service will be detoured this weekend due to scheduled rail maintenance. Red Line riders should allow for extra time when traveling during the detour. For assistance, please dial Customer Service at 412-442-2000 or for TTY, 412-231-7007.

SATURDAY, JULY 14 (7 a.m. - 10 p.m)

A portion of the outbound Red Line will be closed in Beechview from approximately 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, July 14. The inbound Red Line is not detoured on Saturday.

On Saturday, the outbound Red Line will detour via Overbrook (along the Blue Line’s routing) from South Hills Junction to Willow/Overbrook Junction. Bus shuttles will provide outbound-only service to stops from Station Square/South Hills Junction to Potomac and a local light rail shuttle will operate outbound from Potomac to Overbrook Junction. For example, a rider traveling from Allegheny Station to Beechview would need to take the T from Allegheny Station, then transfer to a bus shuttle at Station Square or South Hills Junction to continue the rest of their trip.

Bus shuttle stops will be located close to T stops. Following is the list of outbound bus shuttle stops for Saturday:

Inbound Red Line service will be regular route on Saturday.


SUNDAY, JULY 15 (7 a.m. - 10 p.m.)

On Sunday, July 15, a portion of the inbound Red Line will be closed in Beechview from about 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Outbound Red Line service is not detoured on Sunday.

On Sunday, inbound Red Line service will be detoured via Overbrook toward South Hills Junction. Inbound local light rail shuttles will operate from Overbrook Junction to Potomac (outbound service will be regular Red Line from Downtown to South Hills Village), and inbound stops from Potomac to South Hills Junction/Station Square will be served by bus shuttles. Riders can transfer at South Hills Junction or Station Square to T or regular bus routes to continue to Downtown or the North Shore.
