SEPTA was named the best large transit system in North America on Thursday by the American Public Transportation Association.
Story is here.
HUH? Are you kidding? Has April Fools Day come 4 months late? One has to wonder if APTA bestowed this honor from afar, because I can't imagine they really came and rode the system. I'd give the whole system a high grade for the wide variety of modes it offers, but that's it. The new commuter cars are a vast improvement too, but as they continue to operate through un-air conditioned stations and high crime areas, and with NO bathrooms, it's just a band-aid on an open wound.
