An unidentified person was fatally struck by an Amtrak train in Edison late this afternoon, holding up trains in the area for about an hour, a spokeswoman said.

Here is the story.

And all they could find was a very poor 10-year-old photo of an Acela Express train that almost looks like a power car running light. The train in question could not have been an Acela since it was #87 headed for Virginia.

Person killed by Amtrak train on Saturday in Edison identified as Pennington man

A Pennington man was identified yesterday by NJ Transit as the victim killed by an Amtrak train on Saturday.

Story is here.

Not that it matters to the deceased, but the article mentions that NJ TRANSIT police took the lead on the investigation despite the fact that it happened on Amtrak rails and by an Amtrak train. Even though this happened in NJ, is the incident technically out of NJT Police's jurisdiction?
