Amtrak Ordered to Park ExpressTrak Refrigerator Cars
On August 13, 2003, Amtrak was issued a court order that 55 of the 111
ExpressTrak refrigerated express cars will be parked and not used for
revenue service effective immediately; or when any of them reaches the
next terminal; or if loaded past that terminal, when it reaches the
destination of that load.
The 55 restricted cars will be temporarily stored at those terminals
pending disposition. The remaining 56 cars will continue to be used in
ExpressTrak service.
