This page provides a cross-reference of Amfleet cars that have been renumbered as what began as the Capstone 2001 upgrade program supporting the introduction of Acela Regional service in the Northeast Corridor. The program was placed on hold for FY 2002 due to funding constraints. In 2003 progress continued and approximately 15 cars were slated for conversion in FY2004. The program is complete, with all coaches converted into either the 81500-series or 82500-series.
Cars in blue cells were further renumbered and converted to push-pull; the blue cell "new number" will appear in the Coachclass or Businessclass Push-Pull columns. As of July 2012 all non-push pull conversions were modified with push-pull capability.
Cars in red cells were overhauled and renumbered into higher numbers in the same series.
Cars in gray cells were overhauled and converted into coaches.
Cars in orange cells weren converted from Businessclass to coaches in 2016.
