This page provides the numbers of F40s (excluding those converted to cab-baggage vehicles) were active or otherwise saved from the scrapper's torch as of the initial March, 2004, posting. Units that have been scrapped since then are listed in red. Because of the many locations the F40s have gone to after "life at Amtrak," it is very possible we have missed a few units.
